W ramach współpracy pomiędzy Goyki 3 a Instytutem Francuskim w Warszawie w marcu 2023 roku odbędzie się pierwsza edycja krótkich rezydencji artystycznych dla francuskich artystów i artystek sztuk wizualnych. Profil rezydencji jest nastawiony na research – pogłębienie badań nad podejmowanymi w projektach zagadnieniami oraz kontakt z naturą i historią Sopotu, w nawiązaniu do tematu przewodniego roku Goyki 3, czyli Cyrkulacji.
Wśród 41 zgłoszeń jury w składzie: Kasia Sobczak (Goyki 3 Art Inkubator), Beata Kowalska i Pascale Just (Instytut Francuski w Warszawie) wybrało propozycje projektu przedstawionego przez Laureline de Leeuw.
Artystka będzie pracować nad swoim projektem w Sopocie od 12 do 26 marca 2023 roku.
Laureline de Leeuw jest projektantką przedmiotów i artystką wizualną z Paryża. W swojej pracy bada materiały i rzemiosła. W jej projektach przeplatają się one z dziedzictwem kulturowym i materialnym, które według artystki należy ponownie uszlachetnić. Artystka skupia się na terytoriach od wyspy Reunion do Maroka, poprzez przedmieścia Paryża czy Dolinę Loary, aby umieścić swoje wytwory w ich kontekście, od momentu ich wyprodukowania do wykorzystania. Ostatnio opracowała w duecie z artystą Louisem Van Dorsselaerem serię opowieści graficznych rozpoczętych w Senegalu. To właśnie część tej pracy będzie przedmiotem jej projektu w ramach rezydencji w Goyki 3 Art Inkubatorze w Sopocie.
Spotkanie w formie otwartej pracowni z artystką oraz z współautorem opowieści graficznej Louisem Van Dorsselaerem zaplanowane jest na 22 marca o godzinie 18.00.
Spotkanie odbędzie się w języku angielskim.

As part of the collaboration between Goyki 3 and the French Institute in Warsaw, the first edition of short art residencies for French visual artists will take place this March. The profile of the residency is focused on research – deepening the study of the issues taken up in the projects, as well as contact with nature and the history of Sopot, in reference to Goyki 3 theme for the year, which is Circulation.
Among the 41 submissions, the jury composed of: Kasia Sobczak (Goyki 3 Art Inkubator), Beata Kowalska and Pascale Just (French Institute in Warsaw) selected the project proposals presented by Laureline de Leeuw.
The artist will work on her project in Sopot from March 12 to 26, 2023.
Laureline de Leeuw is an object designer and visual artist based in Paris. By means of her work, she conducts a reflection around materials and craftsmanship. These are intertwined in her projects like cultural and material heritage to (re)enhance in order to produce better. She explores territories from Réunion’s island to Morocco through Paris’ suburb or the Loire Valley in order to put her creations in their context, since their production to their use. More recently she developed in duet with the artist Louis Van Dorsselaer, a series of graphic tales started in Senegal. It is part of this work that will be the subject of her residency research at the Goyki 3 Art Inkubator, of Sopot in Poland.
An open studio meeting with the artist and co-author of the graphic story Louis Van Dorsselaer is scheduled for March 22 at 6 pm.
The open studio will be held in English.
